Amjad is a Senior Engineering Manager for Data Science and Innovation in Shell’s Information Digital Technologies organisation, responsible for replicating and deploying AI solutions at scale at Shell. Amjad has 30 years’ technical and management experience, with the last 19 years in Shell developing novel machine learning algorithms and building software products. He has worked in several industries including bio-tech and environmental monitoring, in a variety of roles including project and programme management, consultancy and more recently running and building natural teams and developing talent. Amjad holds a first degree in Chemistry and a PhD in ‘Theoretical Physics and Chemistry’. Amjad has been passionate about data since his teenage days, when he studiously studied cricket, football and athletic facts and figures, looking for trends and patterns. In his spare time, Amjad enjoys spending time with the family, kicking a ball, cooking for friends and family, and if time permits hiking in the great outdoors.
