James is the co-founder and Technology Lead at Parallax, where he drives innovation in software engineering, large-scale architecture, and applied artificial intelligence. With over two decades of experience, James has a proven track record of solving highly complex technical challenges across domains including IoT, AI/ML, mobile, and cloud-native systems.

He has led the design and delivery of production workloads using large language models (LLMs) before the release of ChatGPT, with a particular focus on automated evaluation of agentic systems, benchmarking accuracy and performance, and the integration of LLMs into real-world decision support tools. James was instrumental in developing an award-winning AI-powered compliance platform for a FTSE 100 company.

James was recently named in the BIMA100, recognising him as one of the UK’s most influential digital leaders. He is also a member of the AWS Hero programme, reflecting his advanced capabilities in cloud-based architecture and innovation.

Outside of Parallax, James serves as an external advisor to the University of Huddersfield, supporting their AI research into textile recycling—a project that intersects industrial IoT, computer vision, and sustainable tech.
