Data Decoded MCR 2026: A Look Back at Manchester and What’s Next
Data Decoded MCR returned to Manchester Central in October, bringing the data community together for an event packed with practical insights, real-world learning, valuable connections and a fantastic atmosphere throughout.
From engaging conference sessions and a busy exhibition floor to hands-on workshops, evening meetups and a buzzing afterparty, Data Decoded MCR 2026 demonstrated the value of bringing data professionals together to share experiences, tackle challenges and explore new ideas.
As we reflect on another successful event in Manchester, we’re sharing some of the highlights and looking ahead to what’s next for Data Decoded.
Starting the Week with Hands-On Learning
The Data Decoded experience began before the main exhibition doors opened, with a programme of small-group, instructor-led workshops on Monday.
Designed to provide a more focused and interactive learning environment, these workshops gave participants the opportunity to explore specific topics in greater depth, develop practical skills and engage directly with experienced instructors.
The smaller group format encouraged questions, discussion and hands-on learning, offering a valuable complement to the wider conference programme.
It was a great way to kick off the week, setting the tone for an event centred on practical knowledge and real-world application.
Bringing the Data Community Together
Data Decoded MCR has always been about more than bringing technology providers and potential customers into the same room. It’s about creating an environment where data professionals can have open, productive conversations about the challenges they face and the solutions that can help them move forward.
This year’s event welcomed data leaders, architects, engineers, analysts and technology specialists from across the industry, each bringing their own perspectives, experiences and priorities.
Across the busy exhibition floor, attendees explored new technologies, connected with solution providers and exchanged ideas with peers facing similar challenges.
The atmosphere throughout the event reflected what Data Decoded is all about: a community interested in sharing knowledge, solving problems and making meaningful progress.
Practical Insights Across the Data Landscape
The conference programme once again placed practical knowledge and real-world experience at its heart.
Across dedicated theatres covering Data Leadership & Strategy, Governance, Architecture & Platforms, Analytics & BI, and AI & Machine Learning, speakers explored the opportunities and challenges shaping modern data organisations.
Sessions tackled questions around building effective data strategies, establishing stronger governance, developing scalable architectures and turning data into actionable business insights.
Artificial intelligence was an important part of the conversation, but the focus extended beyond the technology itself to the foundations, processes and people required to make it work effectively.
Rather than concentrating solely on emerging trends, the programme encouraged attendees to consider how ideas could be applied within their own organisations.
From strategic discussions to technical implementation, the emphasis remained on helping data teams move projects forward.
Busy Evening Meetups and a Buzzing Afterparty
The conversations didn’t stop when the conference sessions finished.
Data Decoded MCR’s evening meetups proved a popular addition to the event, bringing attendees together in a more informal setting to continue discussions, exchange experiences and make new connections.
With a busy atmosphere and plenty of conversations taking place, the meetups provided an opportunity for people with shared interests and challenges to connect beyond the conference theatres and exhibition stands.
The afterparty added another dimension to the experience, with a fantastic buzz as attendees, speakers, exhibitors and partners came together to unwind and socialise.
The energy throughout the evening reflected the strength of the community that Data Decoded continues to build.
These informal opportunities are an important part of what makes the event different. While the conference delivers practical knowledge and the exhibition connects attendees with solutions, the meetups and afterparty help turn introductions into lasting professional relationships.
