Weds 22 April, 5:30pm-7:30pm

When day one wraps at 5:30pm on Wednesday 22 April, the learning continues. Join our local evening community meetups—interactive, small-group sessions hosted in the Data Decoded LDN theatres at Olympia London.

Attendees are welcome to choose a meetup (listed below) to attend. Expect practical discussions, audience Q&A, and plenty of opportunities to swap ideas with peers across the data & AI community.

How it works:

  • Meetups start shortly after the main programme ends (from 5:30pm).

  • Each meetup takes place in its designated theatre.

  • Simply pick the topic that suits you and head to that theatre ( advance registration with the individual Meetup group is appreciated) —full details below.

We are a networking and knowledge sharing space for the data engineering cohort in London. From the experienced engineers staying on top of the latest developments to those trying to enter the industry, we are open to all levels. We have delved into a range of topics – pipeline architectures, data security, the rise of AI and have even questioned the environmental impact of our architecture decisions. Come along to mingle with your fellow data engineers, share some data engineering stories and stay on top of the rapidly evolving data landscape.

5:30-5:45pm: Gathering at the Data Governance, Risk & Compliance Theatre.

    6:00pm: Talks Start

    🗣️The Speakers🗣️

The API-fication of Data Engineering with Data Contracts
Samhita Sarkar, Data Engineering Tech Lead at HP Inc
    (Samhita’s LinkedIn)

    Talk Abstract:
Traditional data engineering is often reactive, relying on fragile pipelines that break whenever upstream software changes. By adopting Data Contracts, teams can shift toward a formal, versioned interface modelled after software APIs. This architectural evolution treats data as a public product, ensuring stability and ending the cycle of constant firefighting.

    Samhita’s Bio:
Samhita is a Data Engineering Tech Lead at HP Inc, having worked across diverse domains including marketing, supply chain and insurance in her career. Samhita is passionate about empowering others having mentored over 100 individuals, guiding them to navigate the career path in data engineering.

  • MEETUP: London Snowflake User Group (LSUG)

    Time: 17:30 - 19:30, 22 April 2026

Location: Data Decoded LDN - Data Architecture, Platforms & Infrastructure Theatre

The London Snowflake User Group (LSUG) gets together to share best practices and network with other Snowflake users and data enthusiasts in the local area. Whether you are just starting out with Snowflake, or are a veteran user, join our group. We’re always interested in hearing stories of how to use Snowflake to do more with your data, or solve mission-critical business data issues.

Talk 1: Jean Mandarin, Snowflake CoE Lead @ Kubrick Group

From Data Platform to Decision Engine: A Snowflake CoE playbook for agentic AI

Snowflake has moved well beyond cloud data warehousing. With Cortex Agents, Snowflake Intelligence, Openflow, managed MCP servers, and growing support for open table formats and interoperable architectures, the CoE remit has changed. This session shares how a modern Snowflake CoE can help enterprise teams move from platform ownership to AI product delivery, without losing control of governance, security, or cost. Expect practical guidance on operating models, reference architectures, guardrails, and the patterns that let federated teams build faster on Snowflake.

Talk 2: Snowflake Solutions Engineer, Jenny Zhou

Join us for a 30 mins lighting talk on Snowflake AI coding agent, Cortex Code and how it can help you build and evolve data pipelines, applications, and ML workloads faster on Snowflake.
We’ll show how Cortex Code can accelerate secure, production‑grade development across your use cases — from transforming data pipelines and working with Dynamic Tables, to creating AI agents with Cortex Agents/Snowflake Intelligence, to simply writing better SQL and Python directly in your worksheets and IDEs.
We’ ll cover how to use Cortex Code directly in Snowsight, via the Snowflake CLI, and in popular IDEs like VS Code and Cursor, walk through recommended best practices, and then bring it all together with an end‑to‑end example using Cortex Code to build sth exciting from scratch. No spoiler about what we are going to build – join us to discover!
