Calum Inverarity is a Senior Researcher at the Open Data Institute where he leads research projects and established a dedicated programme of work looking at the development and application of privacy-enhancing technologies (PETs). This work has focused on the societal value these technologies can generate, frameworks for their responsible use and non-technical barriers to their adoption.
He has previously worked with think tanks and research institutes in the UK and Belgium focusing on international security, economic policy and conflict resolution. Some of his previous research has explored decision making within complex systems, the science-policy nexus, illiberal democracy and post-conflict constitutional reform.
Calum is a founding member of the Roundtable for AI Security and Ethics, as well as a member of the OECD DFFT Expert Community on PETs.
